What we collect

When you buy Uncanny Office, Stripe handles the payment. We receive your name, email address, the country and postal code from your billing address, and a record of the purchase. We never see or store your card details.

Once a day while it runs, every copy of the app (trial or licensed) sends us an anonymous check-in: its random device ID, the date it was first installed, the app version, the operating system (macOS, Windows or Linux) and whether it is licensed. Our network provider, Cloudflare, tells us the country, region and city the check-in came from; we keep those, not your IP address. We use this only to count installs and trials and to see roughly where the app is used.

When you activate the app, it sends us your license key, a random device ID and your computer's name, so we can enforce the device limit and let you move your key between machines.

The leaderboard (only if you opt in)

The leaderboard is off until you turn it on from the trophy case in the app's office. Once you opt in, each of your activated computers sends us, with your license key and device ID: the display name and city you chose, your Claude Code token totals per day and all time, and a few usage counts (most sessions at once, active days, streaks, tasks completed, sub-agents spawned) plus the achievements you have earned. Your name, city and totals are shown publicly on the leaderboard page. Names and cities are checked before they are accepted: letters only, one or two words, and no offensive words.

These are counts only. The app never sends prompts, code, terminal output, file names or anything else from your sessions.

Turn sharing off in the app and everything the leaderboard holds for your license is deleted at once, from every computer. Deactivating a computer deletes that computer's numbers too. Daily totals older than about a year are deleted automatically.

Email updates (only if you opt in)

You can ask for emails when a new version is out, and separately for news and offers, in the signup form on this site or at checkout. We keep your email address, which lists you joined and when. Every email has an unsubscribe link, which takes you off both lists at once.

What we do not collect

The app does not send us your code, terminal output, Claude sessions, prompts or job results. Your devices talk to each other directly over your own network. The app never reads or transmits your Claude credentials.

How we use it

We use your email to send your license key, receipts and important product notices, to answer support requests, and to send the emails you opted in to. We use billing and check-in locations only in aggregate, to see where the app is used. We do not sell or share your information, apart from Stripe for payments, Cloudflare for serving the site, and our email provider for sending mail.

Your choices

Email us through the Support page to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Deleting it also deactivates your license.
